TEDxBaghdad 2011 - Ihsan Fethi Willful neglect and destruction spanning over 100 years has jeopardized Iraq's rich architectural heritage. Ihsan Fethi will relay his impassioned story of the devastation of some of the country's most significant architecture, and suggest what we can now do to prevent and reverse this deleterious process. Ihsan Fethi has long been concerned with the destruction and deterioration of Iraq's architectural heritage. With a degree in architecture and a PhD in urban conservation, Ihsan has written numerous papers and books on this topic. His extensive knowledge and vast experience makes him an invaluable resource to the movement of preservation and restoration of Iraq's urban structural history. He works closely with various prominent organizations in this field, including the Getty Conservation Institute, the World Monument Fund, and the Iraq Council of Culture.
